One Flag, One People
By Lisa Dudley & Harry
MooreI really did have this
amazing dream many years ago. I thought I was
supposed to create a great foundation for world
peace and music festivals to promote world peace.
I went to the United Nations. I spoke to
politicians. I wore myself out believing I had
this big job to do. It was Pastor Larry Moore
from Faith Lutheran Church outside of Nashville
who told me "if God wants this to happen,
hell make it happen." My mother said,
"maybe youre just supposed to write a
song about it". So I did. Harry helped me
write it. He dropped in the words,
"nevermore to lose a son to war" and I
was blown away by that line.

I
had a dream one beautiful morning
Just as the world was waking up
A dream of hope and understanding
In a reign of brotherhood and love
All the nations were celebrating
The greatest party the world had ever known
An end to war and all the fighting
And a flag of peace was finally, finally born
One
flag, one people united of the earth
Children
were laughing, mothers were crying
Nevermore to lose a son to war
Singing songs of grateful jubilation
Bells ringing out from shore to shore
There were millions of flags flying
Joining the seven seas
Ive seen the truth, Ive seen the
future
The world in unity, Ive seen
One
flag, one people, united of the earth
Bridge:
And there was one blessed day of peace
One blessed year of peace
There was one thousand years of peace
United of the earth
And
all the nations were celebrating
The greatest party the world had ever known
An end to war and all the fighting
And a flag of peace was finally, finally born
One
flag, one people united of the earth
I
saw, one flag, one people united of the earth
