I Believe in America
By Lisa Dudley
I
was raised overseas and I experienced martial law
in the Philippines and curfews in Venezuela. The
freedom we have in the United States is very
precious to me. I love this country. I remember
as a young girl, my grandparents holding hands
and voting together. As a writer and a musician,
I am passionate about freedom of speech.

I
believe in America
Land of the brave and the free I
pledge my allegiance
To justice and equality
I will proudly stand and sing
An anthem to liberty
I believe in America
Land of the brave and the free
I believe in America
In the red, white and blue
Melting pot of brotherhood
Freedom to choose
Georgia peaches, Grand Canyon deep
Sequoia trees, the Chesapeake
Oh, I believe in America
Land of the brave and the free
Bridge:
I may not always agree
With what some people are saying to me
But I will stand and I will fight
For their right to speak as they please
I believe in America
In goodness and light
Im praying our leaders
Will be blessed with spirit sight
May the eagle always be
Flying high, from sea to shining sea
Oh, I believe in America
Land of the brave and the free
I
believe in America,
land of the brave and the free
I
believe in America,
land of the brave - and the free
